IN A PERFECT WORLD

In a perfect world, there is no hate.

In a perfect world, there is no evil.

In a perfect world, all is quiet.

We don’t live in a perfect world,

We had one once, but let it slip away.

We can never return there…ever.

In a perfect world, people always smile.

In a perfect world, there are no locks.

In a perfect world, love is abundant.

But, we don’t love those that are different.

We lock away our hopes and dreams.

Scornful cynicism is all we show on our faces.

In a perfect world, children laugh and play.

In a perfect world, adults help out their neighbors.

In a perfect world, fear is not an option.

Our children know not the joy of games.

We only ask “What’s in this for me?”

Failure and discontentment rule our thoughts.

The only perfect world now is in our fantasies.

Search not unless you are prepared to find it.

The road is hard and rough…stay the course.
